With over two decades of experience spanning education, health, voluntary, and social services, I've dedicated my career to supporting families and empowering professionals to deliver effective and transformative services.
I truly believe that every single child, regardless of background, should have the support and resources they need to thrive. To make that happen, I believe schools, families, and communities need to work in harmony.
I am committed to turning this vision into reality through my consultancy, my publications, and Parent Power, a community-based organisation which I founded in 2020. Parent Power is where I've channelled my passion for positive change and is making a real difference in the lives of children, families, and communities in South London.
My path in education and family support has been rich and varied. I served as a Literacy and Family Learning Tutor, a Parent Support Practitioner, and a Domestic Abuse Training and Awareness Officer. Each role has deepened my understanding of the complex challenges facing families and the critical importance of targeted evidence-based support.
My academic background includes a PGCE in Literacy and certification in Positive Parenting. As a certified NHS Mental Health First Aid Youth Instructor, I'm also equipped to address the crucial intersection of mental health and education.
Parent Power, the organisation I founded, is the culmination of my experiences and aspirations. We are dedicated to supporting parents, children and young people and training professionals to deliver effective services. Our resources, utilised by UK local authorities, schools, the NHS, and the foster care sector, are continually updated to reflect the latest developments in child development and best practices.
Our impact extends beyond traditional educational settings. I have had the privilege of coordinating a UK government food programme aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles among vulnerable children and families within their domestic cultural contexts. This initiative underscores my belief that education and wellbeing are inextricably linked.
A cornerstone of my work has been promoting positive racial identity in children and young people. I spearheaded a project supporting teachers in this crucial area, recognising that celebrating diversity and nurturing individual identities are key to creating truly inclusive educational environments that allow children to belong and thrive.
My commitment to education and family support extends to publications. I'm the author of several practical books and educational resources:
These publications reflect my dedication to providing accessible, easy-to-follow resources for personal development and professional training. You can find some of my publications for sale on this website, Amazon.co.uk or Waterstones.
My work is grounded in a deep understanding of:
I've designed and delivered numerous training programmes for families and professionals, with a particular focus on vulnerable and marginalised communities. My approach is always rooted in evidence-based research, ensuring that the strategies and resources I provide are both effective and current.
